This is a question I get fairly often. Rising Star Outreach is not one of the big NGO's that work in several countries and have major offices and recruit at college campuses all over the USA. In a way, Rising Star is a homegrown organization that came about after Becky Douglas saw the horrible state of the leprosy-affected in India. For all of those that are still curious as to what exactly it is that Rising Star does, here is a short 7 minute video that was made during a recent volunteer session at Rising Star's campus (Stacey Tookey from So You Think You Can Dance and David Archuleta were both part of this volunteer session).
I realize I say this all the time, but volunteering with Rising Star is a life changing experience. I am counting down the days until I can go back and start working with the children and leprosy-affected again.
2 months and 4 days until I leave people!!! This is crunch time :)
